The Blue Miracle! DONIC's new Bluefire is a completely new rubber development offering top speed. A new high-tech generation of rubbers in the proven Formula FD3-technology has been developed as a result of the perfect combination of the large pored blue sponge with an extremely spinny top surface rubber. The top rubber with its small, long pimpled-in structure lends the rubber the best possible flexibility and sensational feeling. Above all, the Bluefire is unbelievably fast with a characteristic high arc when top-spinning that enables maximum spin and increased speed.

DONIC Bluefire M1:
Characteristics: Highly dynamic, extremely spinny top sheet.
Recommended for: Top players or players who practice a lot and prefer to use harder rubbers.

Only recommended for highly skilled all out fast attackers

I'm around 1650 USATT. I've used rubbers like Acuda S1 Turbo, Omega IV and V Pro, Tenergy 05, and all feel very comfortable on FH of 5-ply all wood OFF- blade. I was under the impression that Bluefire M1 would be around the same hardness as Acuda S1 Turbo, but to me it felt harder. It was difficult for me to compress the sponge consistently and when I didn't make optimal contact I missed. When I executed properly though, my power loops were extremely fast and effective. Overall though I felt lost more on ball feeling and control. Also, this rubber was more reactive to incoming spin than anything I've ever tried. I struggled returning serves from the same people where I normally have no issue. It definitely has tremendous power and spin potential, but only recommended if you like hard rubber and are really consistent in all your strokes. I went back to Acuda S1 Turbo and I get the same length and power on my loops but with much better control.

My choice for both FH and BH

I can generate a lot of torque easily against any incoming shot top or chop... which is rare and nice... AND on serve... maybe even especially on serve. Was scared away a bit at first because speed is given a higher rating than spin. Well, you can hit a hard, medium-spin ball, but you can ALSO hit a hard, super-hi-spin ball... since it will grab if you let it. That makes it my pick for both BH AND FH a subtle advantage for things like when rubbers wear out at different times... and you just want to flip over to the better side on your strong wing temporarily until you get new sheets. I did not notice a difference between the M1 and M1-Turbo in terms of playability... but the M1 regular is MUCH lighter the Turbo seems chinese-rubber-heavy in my opinion... so in that regard, I really like the regular M1 better since I use a med-fast... to med full-size blade... and have a higher swing speed mostly for generally close-to-the-table play. Overall, I love it... plus its got killer-cool blue sponge Note generally Im a max user, but 2.0 works really well with the increased consistency thickness-wise of 2.0. Note I posted this review on ttdb as well

Great Rubber

I actually use this on my KCZ forehand and love it. I have another sheet and am a little tentative about using it on my back hand just due to the speed but offensively it is the best Ive used. better than Bryce and Hammond pro Alpha and Donic Desto F3 and many others that I have tried. if you love drive smash and top spin you will love this rubber

VERY VERY FAST

I typically use softer rubbers, but I decided to give this a try and quickly discovered that it is an amazing blocking and backhand rubber. Ive play over 100 hours with this rubber and it still performs just like it did on day 1. This is not a rubber for a beginner! You need good technique to keep the ball under control and not overshoot the table. I especially like this rubber for backhand chopping and under the table looping. Generates very intense spin with chops.

The best Ive used

This rubber produces more spin and power than I would have believed possible. You can attack effectively from both wings and have precise ball placement. However, I caution not to use it with too hard a blade. The Kcz from nittaku lost too much feel, but the slightly softer stiga sceptrum is ideal. additionally, despite it being a pre assembled blade the sceptrum is the most reliable blade I have ever used for a Varied offense
