Paddle Palace Club's own Christian Lillieroos uses the Stiga Cybershape Wood CWT blade (flared handle), assembled with black Stiga DNA Platinum H (2.3mm) and red DNA Platinum M (2.3mm) rubber.
PLAYING STYLE: Modern Offense
Christian’s Setup: The Cybershape blade is amazing. I can achieve better control with the Wood version. Stiga DNA Platinum Hard sponge gives me good control for blocks and more response when I loop hard. My backhand loop has less acceleration, so I like the DNA Platinum Medium for that. The CWT handle system is a game changer. I prefer the 9 gram weight for close to the table play, block and counter, and no weight if I’m chopping or further away from the table.
THE BLADE: The revolutionary Cybershape design from Stiga Sports now offers the Cybershape Wood CWT -- the world's first table tennis blade with the groundbreaking "Custom Weight Technology"! The Stiga Custom Weight Technology innovation allows you to adjust the weight and balance of the blade using three weights of 3, 6, and 9 grams that you can easily attach to the bottom of the handle with help of a magnet inside the blade. When you can adjust the weight of the blade, you can also control the blade’s mass, which together with the size of the blade and the force in the stroke, create kinetic energy. This means that a heavier blade generates more force and kinetic energy at a given speed. This gives players the ability to change the nature of the blade depending on your individual preference and other external factors.
Stiga Cybershape Wood is a factory-lacquered, offensive blade that is made up of five exclusive wooden layers and developed to work optimally with a wide range of table tennis rubbers. This makes Cybershape Wood a blade that suits the majority of playing styles. In addition to the unique Cybershape design delivering a larger sweet spot and optimized hitting area, the shape also provides clear advantages when it comes to game development and improving technical skills. The six edges of the blade make it easier to see and find the correct angle using different strokes. Both players and coaches benefit from being able to easily see and ensure that the angle of the blade is correct at the beginning and end of a forehand loop, or that the player has the bat at the correct angle when receiving.
BLACK RUBBER: Stiga DNA Platinum is the latest addition to STIGA's DNA series that features a new generation of table tennis rubbers from Germany. The unique rubber composition provides an excellent grip, allowing the player to strike the ball from really challenging angles. The short pimples together with the thin top sheet means that DNA Platinum can accommodate a thicker sponge (up to 2.3 mm), which gives you additional speed and power in the game. Thanks to the PSC (Power Sponge Cell) technology, you get a longer ball trajectory with more power in your stroke and an aggressive arc in loop play. The sponge pores also enhance the contact between the rubber and the blade, which means that you get that sought-after, crisp sound in your stroke. A sponge hardness of 50 degrees gives you the power and speed for quick, effective finishes.
RED RUBBER: Stiga DNA Platinum M is an advanced table tennis rubber with superior grip and spin that allow for strikes from challenging angles. A sponge hardness of 47.5 degrees offers the perfect balance between control and speed. A thinner top sheet can accommodate a thicker sponge, thus offering more speed and power. It features shorter pimples for greater surface contact between sponge and blade. Power Sponge Cells for increased catapult effect and optimal power. A unique rubber compound with long durability and a clear, crisp sound. Made in Germany and developed in collaboration with the Chinese national team.
